A few are setting up communities where they can farm and be independent. The thinking is that they can be self sufficient and just watch as the rest of their country is destroyed and persecuted but they will be fine.

We now see this creeping into America as Ron Desantis sign the hb269 law making it a hate crime for Floridians to criticize a Jew. He signed this law punishing Floridians using their 1st amendment rights into effect in Israel - show of where his true loyalties lie.
The same people who funded the communist takeovers and the massacres that followed are now in control of even more funding as billions funneled into ukrain and NGOs goes straight to their pockets. They have all they need to buy anyone they need.
Look at your local governments, school boards, hospital boards and any bureaucracies and ask yourself if they are following constitutional law or are they bough and paid for puppets of the regime.
Look at how your cops jack booted old men and women for simply not wearing masks both here and abroad.
Is what is happening now different from what they have done in the past - no, you will not be allowed to live your free farm utopia in the woods. Complete and total control is all they will accept as they have shown through history and they are now fully engaged in genocide for all with their plandemic mandates.
Your only option is to engage now or suffer the same fate as all those in history before you. You cannot run and hide, there won’t be a shire … those who do not know history are DOOMED to repeat it.
